About Kitty Haven Cafe

History

After graduating from Gateway Technical College in 2017, Andrea Jarich decided to travel the world. One of her first stops was Japan. There, she stopped at Temari No Ouchi Cat Cafe in Tokyo. She had heard of cat cafes before, but were they great like everyone said it was?

Yes they were. The cats offered her companionship, which she desperately needed being thousands miles away from familiar faces. They reminded her of the cats she shared her home with. Along with the delicious food and drinks, the cat cafe made her happy. It was an experience she would never forget.

Back at home, she settled down into her job as a Web Developer. The memories of her time in Japan were stuck in her head, especially of her time at Temari No Ouchi cat cafe. "What would it be like to run one of those cafes?" she wondered. She had heard how well the of one that was in Madison. Maybe she could do it? As much as loved typing in code as a Web Developer, but her true passions were cats and baking.

In 2018, she saw the sign to take a new direction in her life. One day, she bought a lottery ticket. When she handed it in, she found out she had won 1 million dollars! With this money, she bought some land in Sister Bay in Door County Wisconsin and built what would be known as Kitty Haven Cafe.

Since this is a cat cafe, you've got the chance to cuddle up with a cat along with your coffee. Our permanent residents were adopted from the Door County Human Society. We've made a partnership with them, which allows us to host two cats that are up for adoption. If you want to adopt to a cat, send us an email or come in person to the cafe. Each of our cats is tested to make sure they are friendly with a group of cats and humans. These will be some of the sweetest kitties you'll ever meet.
